Half-Marathon Training Day 3!

Last sunday I started training for a half-marathon that will take place in the end of september. So far things have been getting off to a great start! I was really nervous about this at first, and I know I have a long way to go still, but it’s been easier then I thought it would be. So far I have ran: Sunday-3 miles, Monday- 2 miles, and Wednesday- 3miles. This week has been more of a conditioning week and getting my body back in the groove of long distance running.

I have a nike+ in my shoe that has been a great thing for running. It tracks your distance, speed, and calories burned. It’s nice because it’ll tell you your average pace per mile. I like it mostly because I can just run and not think about the distance at all and then it’ll announce when I reach a certain distance.

What I love most and hate most about running is how hard it is. I obviously hate it because it’s not easy.. You have to push yourself in ways that you don’t normally do. But that is also one of the reasons why I love it. I love that after running I feel like I just defeated non other than myself. Which in life isn’t that your only real opponent anyway? Running is a great way to deal with inner battles and help you improve over all as a person. I think that when I complete the half marathon of 13.1 miles I will feel very self accomplished :)

One more week of summer break! And then Summer quarter starts and I take Anatomy.. haha :)
